Description

Position Summary

The Powder Coat Painter III will ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and on-time performance. You will safely set up and operate powder application equipment including powder guns hoppers and powder booths while painting various shapes and sizes of steel and aluminum components on a moving conveyor line. You will be an expert in the department required to communicate well and train new employees.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parts are properly painted and work instructions are followed precisely
  • Operate all coating equipment including guns hoppers and booth collection systems
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
  • Determine flow and coating quality by performing visual inspections
  • Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
  • Ensure spray efficiencies are meeting KPIs based on quoted levels
  • Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and on-time performance
  • Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout the facility
  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
  • Ensure proper cleaning by removing waster powder and maintenance of equipment
  • Train new associates powder coating operations and techniques
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Able to work in a fast-paced job-shop environment
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Must be able to work M-TH 5:30am-4:00pm. To meet the needs of the customers occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible.


Physical Demands

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms hands fingers legs and moving your whole body such as lifting balancing walking stooping handling of materials and operating machinery
  • Carrying & lifting 10 - 75 Pounds frequently
  • Ability to endure hours exposed to heat
  • Ability to move and transfer products with an overhead crane
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be able to pass a general respirator medical evaluation


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in powder coating painting
  • Good knowledge of mechanics and repair of painting equipment
  • Knowledge wash and pretreatments
