The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the preparation accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reports. This individual will lead a team of accountants ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and systems. The role requires a strategic thinker who can balance operational execution with forward-looking financial insight.
How You Will Contribute
- Oversee the revenue and investment income recognition process ensuring timely and accurate journal entries reconciliations and summary reports for key stakeholders.
- Closely partner with the fundraising team on all donor-related queries and read-outs.
- Provide technical accounting guidance for transactions and contracts.
- Manage and mentor a team of financial reporting professionals fostering a culture of accountability development and performance.
- Oversee the intranetwork (transfer pricing) invoicing process and ensure proper controls review and timely payment between entities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g. FP&A Treasury Tax Legal) to support business initiatives and ensure alignment of financial reporting.
- Monitor and implement new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Lead special projects including system implementations process automation and reporting enhancements.
- Support the preparation and review of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support strategic initiatives by delivering ad hoc financial analysis and insights to senior leadership.
What You Will Bring
- 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting including public accounting and corporate reporting roles.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Extensive experience in analyzing and documenting conclusions for accounting transactions including consolidation eliminations and multi-entity reporting.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. Sage Intacct Concur Blackline Floqast and advanced Excel skills.)
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Stand Out Candidates Will Bring
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- Experience in nonprofit organizations.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau
