Salary - Engineering Level C10 $71041 to C7 $77886 AREM (6% of base salary) annualised allowance W416 - $18710

What we are looking for:
Were seeking a trade-qualifiedMechanical Fitter with experience in fitting welding and machining to support the maintenance of Fraser Coast Regional Councils mechanical assets. The ideal candidate will have experience in water and wastewater maintenance a strong understanding of pumps gearboxes seals and valves and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety are essential.
What your day will look like:
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Council assets
- Record and report on asset condition and performance
- Maintain tools equipment and workshop resources
- Assist with maintenance planning and procedure updates
- Respond to urgent breakdowns as part of the on-call roster
- Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders
- Complete work orders risk assessments and reports

What youll need for success:
- Trade qualifications in mechanical engineering (fitter / turner)
- White Card (or ability to attain before commencing)
- Current MR licence
- Recreational Marine licence (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- As per competency framework within the Position Description
Whats nice to have:
- Experience in maintenance of water and wastewater and reuse plant and equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of pumps gearboxes mechanical seals and valves
- Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills
- A reliable trustworthy adaptable team player with a focus on safety
