Job Description

JOB TITLE: Referral Coordinator Eye Consultants - Grapevine TX

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for maintaining effective communication with referring providers and ensuring compliance with co-management protocols.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Answer phone in a professional manner and promptly assist callers and direct them to the appropriate departments as needed.
  • Monitor faxes and online referral plat forms update referral spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
  • Respond to incoming referral and appointment request promptly
  • Obtain pertinent information from referring providers/patients in order to complete patient chart.
  • Responding to all missed calls and voicemails promptly
  • Communicate any changes in referring providers preferences to appropriate staff/management
  • Send out patient exam notes and any accompanying comanagement paperwork to referring providers.
  • Assisting with any additional task provided by supervisor/ administrative personnel.
  • Scheduling and rescheduling patients
  • Obtaining patients medical insurance.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Expert level time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Clear understand of medical insurance and understanding of HMO policys.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/ or related software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of medical office experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
