Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support services sharing lived experiences to offer encouragement and guidance.
- Assist individuals in setting and achieving recovery-oriented goals related to housing disability benefits sobriety and mental health management.
- Offer companionship emotional support and mentorship to individuals facing challenges.
- Assist with daily living activities including light housekeeping meal preparation and errands.
- Facilitate access to community resources healthcare services and social support systems.
- Document services provided in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers case managers and community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Must have personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery.
- Must be a certified Peer Support Specialist.
- Ability to establish trust and build relationships with clients.
- Strong communication advocacy and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Durham Henderson and Chapel Hill.
