Position Summary

Completes quality testing of material produced and provides finished test data for release of product. Ensures data information is consistent and accurate for both in process and finished products and verifies products meets or exceeds standards and customer requirements.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management Standard requirements within their sphere of influence. This may include compliance with any air permits wastewater permits storm water permits or other rules as presented to the employee as requirements. In addition compliance with all MSHA FDA and other regulatory agencies is required. Responsible for bringing all environmental health and safety and/or quality incidents or concerns to management for resolution.

1. Performs all applicable raw material and finished product testing.
2. Maintains records of the raw material/finished product documentation and testing results. Completes Certificate of Analysis (COA) and distributes to appropriate parties.
3. Responsible for Document Control and maintenance of site-level procedures forms and batch records. Assures that policies and procedures are kept up to date and are consistently applied within the organization.
4. Responsible for acquisition recording distribution and maintenance of accurate quality information and records as required by cGMPs and Nutrition Quality Policies. Ensures the plant Quality record keeping is effective by keeping precise accurate and orderly records. Creates Master Batch Record (MBR) templates and issues Batch Records with Quality review approval. Organizes interprets and communicates data in appropriate report forms facilitate appropriate action response. Maintain records so they are easily auditable.
5. Assures generation of accurate timely certificates of analysis and requested documents are provided to customers as appropriate.
6. Completes inspection and shipment of sample requests. Enters information into Sales software.
7. May have additional responsibilities in non-routine areas related to material testing computers various certifications SPC problem solving procedure development etc.
8. Routinely be assigned projects in addition to the routine workflow of the lab. Will be responsible for working on these assigned projects independently. At the conclusion of the project will be responsible for a report or results as designated by the Quality Manager
9. May perform other duties.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

1. Education - minimum of high school diploma/GED and applicable work experience. Highly prefer science background with documented technical or college degree.
2. Experience minimum five years total lab experience preferred. This may be from within Huber or documented from previous employment. Education may be substituted for experience if the course of study relates to math science computers electronics chemistry or engineering.
3. Requires the ability to read and understand scales charts drawings formulas or specifications which are prepared by others and required taking information such as measurements type of materials etc.
4. Read notes forms or reports to obtain information or instructions; calculate accurately using arithmetic including decimals and fractions; use some knowledge of the specialized field in with job responsibility lies.
5. Able to prepare and maintain a wide variety of reports.
6. Advanced knowledge of SPC Food regulations and Plant operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Individual works mostly in a climate-controlled laboratory environment.
  • Exposure to chemicals light noises and dusts.
  • May be required to lift 50 pounds stand for extended period of time and work in cold or hot environments.
  • This position requires multitasking often with time limitations on all activities which may be stressful at times.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicants skills performance job responsibilities prior relevant experience certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Quality Technician

$49200.00 -$61500.00

In addition to base compensation individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
