About the Role

The Head of Built Environment and Regulation is a critical role and fulfils the duties which is determined by the Councils Constitution protocol (Part 5 Section D and Article 12). We are looking for someone who will provide pro-active and effective leadership ensuring that all of its resources are aligned to the delivery of strategic objectives of the Built Environment and Regulation service.

You will play a full and active part in the corporate and strategic leadership of the Council through individual direction and the membership of the Corporate Management Team. Furthermore you will provide high quality advice to the Council its Executive and its supporting committees on all areas falling within the Built Environment and Regulation service. As a Head of Service you will lead future resource allocation and financial planning to achieve the Councils short-term and long-term goals as well as adapting to meet LGR requirements as they fall due.

The Head of Built Environment and Regulation will be the Lead Officer responsible for ensuring all the statutory duties are met within their service areas. To accord with the Councils scheme of delegation and due to the complex nature of Development Management and Planning Policy the post holder will need to hold Chartered RTPI status.
