Were hiring for a position focused on conducting on-site assessments of cultural heritage collections and archives across the state. As a key team member youll collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate preservation practices and environmental risks using industry best practices. Your role involves collecting data through interviews and visual observations providing crucial insights into the condition of these invaluable collections. Youll also be identifying opportunities to strengthen infrastructure update policies and enhance staff competencies. Analyzing and advising on gaps based on budget urgency and the ability to implement best practices will also be part of your responsibilities. Your impact wont be left on paper youll be synthesizing custom recommendations into actionable reports that drive real change. Following up with sites ensures that your recommendations lead to long-term improvements in collections care and risk mitigation practices. PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with a Masters degree in Library and Information Science with archival specialization or equivalent PLUS a minimum of two years of work-related experience in an archival setting preferably with a focus on arrangement and description.
Experience with small archival organizations or historical societies is a plus (unpaid experience can apply).
