St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School a Christ-centered community in Brentwood and part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a caring and committed 2nd Grade Classroom Aide to support the classroom teacher in fostering a spiritually enriched and academically excellent learning environment. The aide will assist in lesson implementation provide individual and small-group support and help maintain a classroom culture that promotes the spiritual intellectual emotional and social development of every student in alignment with Catholic values and the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS).
Model and promote Catholic values in all classroom interactions and activities.
Support the integration of faith-based learning throughout the school day.
Assist in preparing for and participating in classroom prayer liturgies and religious celebrations.
Create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere aligned with Catholic teachings.
Assist the teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
Provide individualized and small-group support to address student learning needs.
Help prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources.
Support the use of technology to enhance learning and engagement.
Build positive relationships with students to support their academic and emotional growth.
Monitor and reinforce classroom behavior expectations with consistency and compassion.
Observe and report student progress or concerns to the classroom teacher.
Help maintain a clean safe and orderly classroom environment.
Support daily routines classroom transitions and behavior management strategies.
Address minor student issues promptly and report larger concerns to the teacher.
Foster positive relationships with students families faculty and staff.
Participate in school events service projects and community activities when appropriate.
Represent the school as a role model of faith service and respect.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in education or a related field preferred.
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is preferred.
Familiarity with Catholic teachings and a commitment to faith-based education.
Experience working with children in an educational childcare or similar setting is strongly preferred.
Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
Basic proficiency with classroom technology and tools (e.g. tablets educational software printers).
