Job Description

Description

The Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) Tech has responsibilities and duties that are primarily administrative in nature with core activities centered on quality production support. Actions are pursued under the direction of or in support of a manufacturing quality engineer (MQE).

  • Assist MQEs with establishing lean manufacturing in production cells.
  • Work with production and in-process inspection associates to identify and correct issues with process documentation.
  • Modify/edit/update manufacturing procedures and perform document change procedures.
  • Data collection and reporting of cost of poor-quality metrics.
  • Assist MEs with the design and implementation of tooling and process improvement projects.
  • Assist MQEs with engineering analysis (failure mode and effects analysis process hazard analysis etc.).
  • Establish First Article Inspection (FAI) plans.
  • Support manufacturing quality in successful execution of FAIs.
  • Assist with production readiness reviews and project kick-off actions.
  • Data collection and initial analysis of process data in support of MQE initiatives.
  • Review and approve tollgate books.
  • Generate and process non-conforming material reports (NCM)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Fill in when needed on other functions other than the basic including supporting production areas that do not have a dedicated MQE.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail organizing and maintaining files.
  • Ability to produce accurate documents.
  • Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to company products.
  • Works well in a team environment and alone.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of a project and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 Years of Manufacturing and energetic material experience preferred.
  • 2 year technical degree preferred.
