Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Events Coordinator.

Nevada State University invites you to apply for the dynamic position of Events Coordinator. Reporting to the Event Manager and working within the Office of Marketing and Events the Events Coordinator will manage daily event inquiries coordinate logistics for campus signature and external events and oversee scheduling for special event venues. This position will also maintain the institutional events calendar generate reports facilitate training sessions document best practices and assist with inventory control in support of delivering high-quality events that enhance the universitys mission and community engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating event logistics and planning:
    • Collaborating with the campus departments student groups and external parties.
    • Reviewing event requests and communicating event details and procedures to stakeholders and support partners.
    • Designing setup diagrams and serving as point of contact for vendors and equipment providers.
    • Recruiting training and supervising event volunteers.
    • Providing on-site day-of event support.
  • Managing the colleges events calendar and developing web content.
  • Producing special projects reports and presentations.
  • Facilitating campus-wide training on event software services and processes.
  • Developing and documenting best practices and procedures.
  • Serving on signature event planning committees.
  • Supporting equipment and supply inventory tracking and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an event-related area.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles of organization & supervision.
  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex highly technical information.
  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Effective interpersonal skills to ensure good working relationships.
  • Flexible availability to work occasional early mornings late evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with technology including room scheduling software room diagramming software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in planning and executing successful events within defined budgetary and programmatic guidelines.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in higher education in an event-related area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in special events.
  • Facility scheduling/coordination experience.
  • Experience with 25Live room scheduling software Social Tables room diagramming software and Canva.

Salary & Benefits

Budgeted salary for this position is $59186. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits including 17.50% retirement match 24 annual leave days beginning balance of 30 sick leave days 12 paid holidays educational benefits and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
