Job Summary

The Lean Industrial Engineer utilizes statistical analysis to identify opportunities for organizational performance improvement and provides Lean expertise through training mentoring consulting and providing leadership on large transformations and initiatives. The Lean Industrial Engineer is responsible for the quality of analysis and outcomes related to these initiatives. This position will provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels and functions of the businesss operations on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools within the organizations various locations and serves as a team lead within the Lean Management Office providing coaching advice and direction to Lean Leads.

Minimum Requirements

Experience -2 years work experience in engineering or related field

Education -Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities

1. Data Review and Performance Improvement

a. Directs and supports hospital departments medical staff leaders and senior management to facilitate cross-functional improvement efforts utilizing performance improvement methodologies tool and analytics.

b. Uses key Lean Six Sigma tools such as VSM SIPOC FMEA etc. to identify opportunities for improvement lead strategic initiative improvement teams and develop control plans.

c. Designs data collection tools develops data reports and displays (tabular graphic and other formats) for various forums and other meetings as needed.

d. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to use data and analytics to support project activity and progress toward goals; Coaches Lean Leads on data techniques related to process improvements and on the application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

e. Partners with Manager of Quality Analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and to design and implement solutions.

2. Coaching and Facilitation

a. Effectively lead cross-functional project teams through complex transformations.

b. Train mentor and coach organization team members leadership and Lean Leads in the use of Lean methodology.

c. Demonstrates advanced skill in leading effective meetings and designing/executing effective communication strategies.

d. Identifies issues/barriers and works to facilitate resolution while prioritizing work.

3. Other Duties as Assigned

a. Performs other duties as assigned.
