Job Description

Your Role

Overall the Pricing Analyst will be responsible for the review coordination processing and accuracy of all price requests to ensure pricing fits within the Revenue Departments guidelines. They will also provide analytical support as it relates to pricing across all Lubricant platforms.

Responsibilities

Price Management

  • Review analyze and approve all price requests within designated guidelines including customer specific prices price adjustments for current customers and one-time price overrides
  • Accurately set up approved pricing within ERP system including any Vendor Support Allowances overcharges or any other related charges
  • Manage the effectiveness of pricing approvals through response time price-to-market and margin expectations
  • Coach Territory Sales Reps on pricing approval process
  • Review analyze and approve all requests for one-time price overrides within the assigned territory
  • As the sole person responsible for administering all price overrides with the assigned territory review daily price override report to confirm any non-authorized overrides
  • Ensure contract relevancy including but not limited to irrelevant price points unprofitable pricing by product line firm hard-coded prices not in use and removal of expired contracts
  • Pricing administration including creation of price sheets customer special price uploads daily pricing support
  • Manage customers that require advance price change notification to ensure timely and accurately product pricing
  • Research price discrepancies

Cost Management

  • Act and take ownership over accuracy of standard costs in ERP including accurate vendor costs freight overhead and repackaging rates.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain in review of vendor price adjustments including but not limited to product costs inbound/outbound freight surcharges etc and provide oversight on execution
  • Run and analyze product cost exception reporting to capture discrepancies between Weighted Average Cost and Standard Cost. Work cross-functionally to determine root cause and provide guidance on pricing adjustments.

Pricing Analytics

  • Aid in the execution and analysis of pricing reporting including price change history price mapping and low/negative margin reporting.
  • Support Director Revenue Management on special pricing projects that focus on increased margin opportunities and customer retention including price relevancy share of wallet growth pricing for volume price segmentation etc.
  • At the direction of the Director Revenue Management work to further develop and refine price structures to include Price List Management Annual/Quarterly price adjustments and Discount Approvals
  • Run and review Daily Exception Reports including low margin price overrides and customer special price changes

Team Effectiveness

  • Build and maintain a winning relationship with all sales personnel including all Commercial teams and Supply Chain centered around pricing excellence
  • Work cohesively in tandem with Director Revenue Management regarding Pricing Initiatives and Strategy
  • Cover other Pricing Administrative support functions when ask to do so

  • Take ownership of and participate in personal development activities such as: building basic knowledge of the lubricant market mastering all related systems and software tools etc.

Education

A Bachelors degree in Business Economics Finance or Marketing is required; may consider an equivalent of relevant business experience and education. Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales and pricing information along with the ability to understand market trends. Excellent oral and written communication skills plus a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
