Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Manufacturing Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified diverse individuals within our Manufacturing Engineering organization. This leadership role is located within the Composites Center in El Segundo CA.
The Manager Manufacturing Engineer 2 will support the manufacturing engineering requirements of a technologically diverse composites fabrication line focused on detail part manufacturing that will produce multiple variations of the three F35 Air Vehicle variants. The manager will have direct budget responsibility and day to day Management for approximately 10-14 Engineers which will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Designs manufacturing processes procedures and production layouts for assemblies equipment installation processing machining and material handling.
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of machinery equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Oversees all aspects of manufacturing engineering for composite lay up cure trim and machining processes.
Accountable for driving producibility improvement plans ensuring cost and schedule performance.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors Degree AND 5 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites metallic coatings application and/or production manufacturing OR Masters Degree AND 3 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites metallic coatings application and/or production manufacturing
Must have 2 year of prior management/leadership experience in related field
Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM Degree
Active Secret Clearance
Knowledge of aircraft operations maintenance and aircraft scheduling
Thorough knowledge of aircraft scheduling
Technical management experience with expertise in both manufacturing process development and production process engineering
Composite fabrication lay up cure trim machining processes or assembly experience
Salary Range: $129300.00 - $193900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience education skills and current market conditions.
