Job Description

About Cultivate Initiatives:

We are a group of people who work alongside those on the margins to empower individuals and communities through an inclusive range of initiatives and support. We build communities from the inside out through workforce development housing and homemaking and supportive sheltering.


Compensation/Benefits:

  • $79-84k annually depending on experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Initiative Directors

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead a continuous quality improvement process of the organizations initiatives programs services and support in conjunction with the Director Team.
  • Provide supervisory support and oversight for all Directors of Initiatives.
  • Facilitate programmatic design implementation and evaluation for all programs.
  • Support the Development Department with grant writing reporting and other funding needs.
  • Work with finance to prepare annual program budgets and ensure proper budget expenditure on a quarterly or as-needed basis.
  • Work with Contract Compliance & Database Administrator to facilitate completion accuracy and consistency of data and compliance.
  • Work with Human Resources on policies to create a workplace that is safe supportive and full of opportunities.
  • Actively participate in developing and implementing strategic plans in conjunction with the Director Team.
  • Work with leadership to develop consistent opportunities for staff to connect with each other in order to cultivate a culture of connectedness.
  • Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Represent Cultivate Initiatives to external constituency groups as needed including community governmental and private organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

  • Strong understanding of and ability to analyze financial impact of decisions.
  • Ability to collect and understand information about best practices and emerging ideas within initiatives and programs.
  • Ability to understand the strategic direction of the organization and align the organizations programs and services within that vision.
  • Ability to identify root causes of systemic problems and think creatively about solutions.
  • Strong understanding of leadership role and significance of power dynamics with the ability to respond to situations with professional supportive and measured awareness.
  • Possess a solution-oriented approach with a high value on teamwork.
  • Apply a lens of equity and inclusion in planning and directing all functional activities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to a multicultural approach for supporting an equitable diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Highly effective communicator and active listener with a keen ability to adapt appropriately to various audiences.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations.
  • Ability to make and communicate hard decisions and have courage to stay the course.
  • Ability to perform risk assessment and manage risks effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize delegate and manage multiple projects based on level of importance and urgency.
  • Ability to self-direct in setting and meeting goals outcomes and deadlines independently.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels from quiet offices to louder industrial settings.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Work requires the ability to perform repetitive movements of the wrist hands or fingers due to continuous use of computer keyboards and other office equipment.
  • Being physically present in the CI offices from 8:30am 4:30pm Monday Friday and present for the 8:30am brief and 4:00pm debrief unless otherwise approved by supervisor
  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or religious exemption
  • Must be able to provide proof of Drivers License
