SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The stadium manager is responsible for the safety security cleanliness athletic field and appearance of the stadium facility.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Opens stadium in morning; secures stadium at night.
- Operates heating and air conditioning systems
- Operates public address system stadium lights and scoreboard.
- Responsible for athletic field maintenance.
- Responsible for game day preparation of athletic fields.
- Responsible for clean up after each event.
- Cleans locker rooms restrooms and coaches offices.
- Cleans R.O.T.C. classroom units as specified in accordance with work schedule and specified school needs.
- Repairs removes or secures any unsafe equipment reports same to the Athletic Department.
- Supervises workers inspects their work assigned duties keeps and reports the time for himself and personnel in coordination with the Athletic Department.
- Receives supplies checks inventory requests janitorial supplies for stadium.
- Reports vandalism immediately to Athletic Department and sends reports.
- Light maintenance functions makes minor repairs such as replacing faucet handles door knobs and door adjustments glass repairs painting plumbing electrical etc.
- Replaces light gloves or fluorescent tubes.
- Responsible for all fencing around stadium mowing and upkeep.
- Performs all other duties required by the Administrator for Athletics Physical Education and Health.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS WORKED:
- Stadium Manager must work in all weather conditions winter and summer.
- He is required to provide and wear appropriate clothing for conditions of the day.
- Safety equipment is provided by the Athletic Department.
- Typical work hours are 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. daily including 1/2 hour for lunch 5 days per week.
- Overtime after hours Saturday and Sunday is required.
- Stadium Managers may be required to work a split shift.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents and to write out job completion information.
- Basic math skills are necessary to review purchase receipts and timekeeping information.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Electric and/or dir driven power tools i.e. saws drill motors table tools etc. electric buffers strippers mop push broom power lawn equipment riding mower tractor flail mower gas weed trimmer edger rake shovel.
PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:
- Sitting is required to drive a tractor riding mower truck (when picking up supplies or equipment).
- Ability to provide own transportation to work location and use of vehicle when picking up supplies or equipment.
- Walking carrying tools equipment building materials are constant every day requirements.
- Surfaces vary including mud conditions after a rain gravel concrete dirt grass etc. Climbing 6 8 10 and 12 foot ladders extension ladder stairs and scaffolding are routinely required.
- This climbing often includes carrying tools building materials etc.
- Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised building toilet room enclosures etc. again often necessitating carrying tools and building materials.
- Lifting is required daily in accomplishing tasks.
- In some cases loading and unloading from vehicles will require lifting as much as 50 pounds.
MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
- Schedule plan and coordinate job tasks interface with contractors assigning and monitoring work comprehend and/or produce written instructions.
- Able to perform duties assigned on a recurring basis with minimum supervision.
- Able to detect by observation life safety conditions.
HUMAN RELATIONS INVOLVEMENT:
Must be able to work cooperatively with administrators faculty staff students parents and community. Must be able to respond positively to supervision and accept suggestions for improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to read and write effectively.
2. Must be able to comprehend instruction on operation of equipment of all types and use of chemicals.
3. Must have the ability to perform maintenance functions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Engineers License.
