Job Description

Join Our National Team as a Public Relations Director!

Are you looking to leverage your expertise to grow a role that offers varied and challenging work Our company a leading parent organization that owns and operates 300 franchise locations across North America seeks a Public Relations Director to support the team.

The Public Relations Director will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive public relations internal communications and influencer marketing strategies to support the companys objectives. This role will drive brand visibility enhance trust among consumers and commercial audiences and manage crisis communication initiatives. The Public Relations Director will work closely with senior leadership franchise owners and external partners to amplify the brands impact across all communication channels and maintain a cohesive brand voice.

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
Location: Hybrid

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

o Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with company objectives.
o Drive the companys evolution into a nationally recognized and trusted brand.

Public Relations and Media Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters editors producers and influencers across print digital and broadcast platforms.
o Design and execute impactful PR campaigns to amplify national brand campaigns through creative storytelling and innovative strategies.
o Lead the development and distribution of press releases and media materials.

Crisis Communications:
o Lead crisis communication efforts working closely with the leadership team.
o Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan supporting franchisees and the Emergency Response Team during crises.

Executive and Internal Communications:
o Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders supporting media interviews speaking engagements and executive communications.
o Oversee internal communications channels including newsletters intranet and email campaigns to ensure consistent and engaging messaging.

Influencer Marketing:
o Lead the influencer marketing strategy including identifying vetting and managing relationships with influencers and brand ambassadors.
o Oversee ongoing influencer monitoring tracking and reporting while maximizing ROI.

Franchisee and Regional Support:
o Support new franchise owners with Grand Opening public relations and grassroots community outreach activities.
o Provide direction and tools for franchisees to integrate local PR elements into Co-Op marketing programs.

Corporate Partnerships:
o Maximize the impact of partnerships including the Red Cross through strategic communication initiatives.

Performance Measurement:
o Establish KPIs to measure the success of communication efforts and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
o Maintain and update company boilerplates and ensure cohesive branding across all communication channels.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Competency Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven expertise in crisis management and executive-level communications.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) SharePoint Adobe etc.)
  • Strong creative writing and media relations skills.
  • Experience managing influencer programs for large national brands.
  • Proficiency in public relations marketing and social media tools and strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and personable demeanor.
  • Flexibility attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently handle pressure make decisions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable proactive and passionate about continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in communications business or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications preferably with a national brand or at a regional/national PR agency.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience in the restoration insurance or construction industry
Physical Requirement
The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb balance stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator fax machine copy machine and computer printer.
  • Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents
  • Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone
  • Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
Work Environment
The employee will be working remotely in their home office and will be exposed to normal conditions of air conditioning and heat. Most work will be conducted over email video conferencing and telephone. Employee must have access to a stable internet connection when working out of the office. Employee must use provided VPN technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision.e.
Travel
This position may require up to 20% travel. This position may require travel to franchise locations trainings and team meetings.
