The Process Engineer will support product and process technology development for JST Manufacturing in the semiconductor equipment industry. Responsibilities include qualifying tools running experiments troubleshooting equipment issues and performing technical analysis at both customer sites and in the JST Applications Lab. The role involves travel and working with various chemicals and metrology tools.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate JST equipment in the Applications Lab and at customer sites to qualify tools per specifications.
- Conduct wafer processing and run experiments for product development engineering testing and customer demos.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and other engineering staff.
- Handle and work with chemicals used in the semiconductor manufacturing process.
- Analyze process data including particles metals organics surface roughness and uniformity.
- Utilize metrology tools for wafer surface characterization (e.g. surface scanners thin film measurement tools SEM ICPMS AFM XPS).
- Make technical presentations to customers JST management and at technical conferences.
- Travel 25-50% to customer sites for tool qualification and technical support.
- Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members communicate design constraints and work within the team to achieve solutions.
- Able to work in various positions such as climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching laying reaching with hands and arms grasp handle and operate hand and tools as well as welding equipment.
- Responsible for other duties and task as assigned and in some circumstances may be completely unrelated to this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Bachelors Education: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering Material Science Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience: Semiconductor industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with office products (e.g. Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint).
- Basic analytical skills to interpret and analyze process and metrology data.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing metrology tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with engineering teams and customers.
