About the Opportunity

The IMIT Manager YourHealthNS Development and Testing reports to the Senior Director YourHealthNS.This role oversees a multi-disciplinary team responsible forweb and mobile app developmentalongside user testing for the YourHealthNS app.

Performing a variety of tasks these includebut are not limited to; coordination of resources and stakeholders; managing timelines and milestones; documenting outcomes; and monitoringsummarizingand communicating the progress of activities to theappropriate leadershipteam members. Additionally this management position ensures that all activities within their responsible area are supported by Nova Scotia HealthsYourHealthNSbusiness planestablished policies/procedures and in line with service level agreements between Nova Scotia Health and other partners. The Manager ofDevelopment and Testingwould also function in a senior subject matter expert role within the this is a working manager role it requires hands-on experience in development and testing to support the team while providing strategic oversight.

Specific Accountabilities

• Lead coordinate and mentor a team ofdevelopersfostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Supports the development team in project planning prioritization and execution.
• Providestechnical guidance overseesqualityand implements best practices to improve developmentproficiency.
• Oversees implementation of testing strategies mentoringtheteamin testing toolsand methodologiessuch asETL testing process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on deliverables(roadmapexecutive briefings test results) keeping senior leadership updated on progress.
• Overseesthe implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks and tools.
• Identify document and trackdefect logsand bugs working closely withother workstreamsresolvedefectsbeforeproduction.
• Witha strong focus on delivery priorities being accountable for delivery and responding swiftly to changing user needs.
• Collaborate withthedesignteam project manager system analystsand other stakeholders to ensurethat designs are implemented seamlessly into production.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate development and testing activities seamlessly into broader project goals.
• Serve as both a leader and contributor activelyparticipatingin development and testing activities to support team deliverables.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Bachelorsdegree inComputerScience Software Engineering or a relatedtechnicalfield.
• Expertin programming languages and frameworks for both client-side (e.g. JavaScript TypeScript or equivalent) and server-side development (e.g. Java Python or equivalent).
• 7yearsprofessional experience iniOS and/or Android development includingsignificant experienceindesigning developingtestingandmaintainingsoftware including developingnative mobile applications.
• Experience managing all phases of the testing lifecycle.
• Strongunderstanding of web development principles(HTML CSS and modern UI frameworks)andarchitectural patterns(MVVM MVP and Clean Architecture).
• Experience with debugging profiling tools and testing frameworks.
• Experience working with relationaldata models such as MySQL or equivalents.
• Familiarity withintegrating APIs including third-party APIs for data exchange and application functionality(RESTful API design and implementation).
• Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
• Workingknowledge of front-end development (HTML CSS JavaScript)andarchitecture.
• Familiaritywith tools like Google Analytics orPageSensefor user data analysis.
• Understanding the role of microcopy in improving user interactions and clarity.
• Experience with integrating front-end and back-end components ensuring cohesive application functionality and performance.

• Experience working on projects in the healthcare sector such as health information systems electronic medical records (EMRs) telemedicine platforms or patient engagement solutions.
• Familiarity with data privacy and security standards for handling sensitive health-related information (e.g. Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) Privacy of Personal Health Information Act (PHIPA)).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
• Experience with messaging frameworks (e.g. Kafka or RabbitMQ) or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Prior experience in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Azure or relevant programming languages/frameworks).
• Experience integrating with third-party healthcare APIs such as laboratory systems insurance providers or patient monitoring devices.

Hours

• Full-time Position; 75 Hours Biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

• $45.45- $56.81Hourly
