About the Role
Thank you for your interest in an Advanced Trainee position in General and Acute Medicine Medicine at St Vincents Hospital in 2025.
The Advanced Trainees in General and Acute Care Medicine are responsible for the delivery of clinical services to St Vincents patients by providing high quality clinical care contributing to service evaluation and displaying a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in general and acute care medicine.
Duties:
Provide effective supervised day to day clinical management of both ambulatory and admitted patients who present with multi-system illness and co-morbidities.
Effective communication with supervisors and all staff involved in the patients care in regard to admission discharge management plans diagnostic requests and consultations.
Various leadership opportunities may include leading a daily clinical handover meeting and ward round in conjunction with General Medical and Specialty Medicine Consultants.
Work with the Director and Consultants to build team capacity and supervision of unit Registrars and junior staff.
Activities on subspecialty and external rotation will be specific to that service and directed by your unit clinical supervisor.
You will have the opportunity to rotate through subspecialty areas including General Medicine Hospital in the Home (HITH) Cardiology Respiratory Medicine Nephrology ICU Perioperative Medicine Stroke and Infectious Diseases and our Secondment Health services at Werribee Mercy Hospital Central Gippsland Health Sale and South West Healthcare Warrnambool. Other internal and external rotations are being explored and may be available for 2026 and can be discussed with interested applicants.
Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($129048.40 - $177622.12 pro rata per annum) salary sacrifice and excluding super
