Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction of the Manager or designate plans coordinates and carries out a variety of activities for groups and individual adult Day Program clients; coordinates and carries out personal care to clients to meet their physical social and emotional needs; arranges for and provides transportation of clients to and from the facility; supervises designated staff. Follows applicable VIHA policies procedures and standards and governing legislation and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 12 completion of a recognized activity aide course plus one years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Class 4 unrestricted motor vehicle license to operate a passenger bus seating more than 10.

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to supervise.
