QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Able to pass Nebraska Department of Education physical.
  3. Possesses a valid Nebraska Drivers License and has a good driving record.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include but are not limited to)

  1. Available as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
  2. Knows and follows the rules and regulations of the State of Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles Department of Education and Kearney Public Schools for the transportation of school children.
  3. Provides a safe and proper environment for students.
  4. Does not allow anyone except school personnel supervisory personnel and students regularly assigned to the route to ride the bus.
  5. Does not allow any object to be transported in the vehicle that interferes with the unrestricted movement of passengers in the aisle.
  6. Exercises sound judgment and assists in maintaining good school and public relations.
  7. Keeps the interior of the small vehicle clean (floors swept windows clean etc.).
