About team

The Railway Construction Civil Engineering department at AFRY Switzerland AG plans designs and delivers complex infrastructure projects in the rail sector including stations track systems and civil engineering structures. The department aims to promote public passenger and freight transport by continuously enhancing network capacity through modern sustainable and accessible solutions.

  • Railway Stations
    • Platform extensions and height adjustments
    • Construction or refurbishment of underpasses and canopies
    • Accessibility upgrades in compliance with the Federal Disability Equality Act (BehiG)
  • Railway Infrastructure
    • Upgrading and building new track systems and engineering structures (e.g. bridges)
    • Renewal of track beds including superstructure and substructure
    • Ground improvement and drainage systems
  • Bridges & Structures
    • Planning and construction of railway bridges temporary bridges and civil engineering structures
  • Civil Works for Railway Systems
    • Infrastructure for overhead lines signals cable routes and utility lines
    • Surveying and track monitoring
  • Digitalisation & Planning Logistics
    • Use of 3D modeling and BIM/VDC methods
    • Detailed construction phasing for implementation under ongoing rail operations

The department consists of experienced interdisciplinary teams of engineers planners and BIM specialists who implement the latest technical standards through innovative engineering. In summary the Railway Construction Civil Engineering department at AFRY Switzerland AG takes a holistic approach to delivering demanding railway and infrastructure projects with a strong focus on technical excellence operational safety digital design and long-term sustainability.


Key responsibilities:

  • 3D modeling for road and rail projects using Civil 3D

  • Quantity take-offs and calculations

  • Preparation of technical drawings and documentation


Qualifications :

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering

  • Proven experience working on infrastructure projects in Switzerland

  • Strong proficiency in Civil 3D

  • Good command of English 

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of German
