Job Description

Job Description: Accessibility Test Engineer

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid Mode) 

Experience Range: 6-10 Years

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Test Engineer to join our team who is CPACC Certified guy. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing accessibility audits on various digital platforms to ensure they comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA (with potential updates to WCAG 2.2 Level AA). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct compliance audits for websites and (TV) apps to certify digital platforms meet the success criteria of WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Perform user journey-driven accessibility audits based on specific user goals/tasks provided by clients.
  • Utilize screen readers such as Jaws (Windows PC) NVDA (Windows PC) Voice Over (Mac iOS tvOS) Talk Back (Android smartphone Android TV) and screen magnifiers like ZoomText Magnifier to conduct thorough audits.
  • Clearly identify and prioritize accessibility issues indicating their impact on user experience.
  • Work closely with UX design development and editorial teams to implement recommended changes and improvements.
  • Ensure all audits are conducted under the supervision of or by a certified Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS).
  • Adhere to agreed timings and deadlines coordinating with clients to determine schedules for each sub-assignment.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) or equivalent certification.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with various screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Proven track record of conducting accessibility audits for digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues effectively.
  • Commitment to improving accessibility for people with disabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with legal requirements related to digital accessibility.
  • Experience in involving people with disabilities in conducting accessibility audits.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in digital accessibility.
