AECOM has an immediate opportunity available for a Civil Engineer II - Hydrology & Hydraulics for employment in Bogota Colombia.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling Engineer II to join our Water Hydraulic & Drainage Team in Bogot D.C. This role is integral to enhancing our design capabilities within our enterprise capabilities office in Colombia. The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of projects focusing on advanced hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and designs ensuring the delivery of innovative and effective solutions.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform hydrology and hydraulic analyses and designs for diverse infrastructure projects.
- Develop and apply floodplain inundation and stormwater models to support project objectives.
- Conduct hydraulic scour modeling and provide design recommendations.
- Design and assess linear infrastructure and site drainage systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Execute stormwater runoff modeling and drainage designs for urban and rural environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hydrologic and hydraulic solutions into comprehensive project designs.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in hydrology and hydraulic modeling technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related field with 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS HEC-HMS SWMM ARCGIS CIVIL3D or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably 4 years of experience
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Experience in international projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with national and international hydrology and hydraulic regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
