The Assistant Professor of Accounting will teach undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses engage in scholarly research advise students and participate in service to the department and university. We seek a candidate who is committed to academic excellence student success and contributing to a diverse academic community.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of accounting courses such as Financial Accounting Managerial Accounting Auditing Taxation and Accounting Information Systems.
- Develop and deliver engaging course materials in face-to-face hybrid or online formats.
- Maintain an active research agenda with the goal of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Advise and mentor students on academic and career pathways.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the accounting program.
- Participate in departmental college and university service including committees and accreditation efforts (e.g. ACBSP AACSB if applicable).
- Collaborate with industry partners to create experiential learning opportunities such as internships and guest lectures.
- Support the mission vision and values of the university and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices.
Education
- Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD considered with expected completion by start date).
- Evidence of effective teaching at the college/university level.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
