Job Description
Are you ready to help scale a cutting-edge aerospace product into high-volume production ALTEN UK is seeking a skilled NPI Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements on a next-gen system thats pushing boundaries in automated production. Youll work closely with design teams to refine a product thats already seen multiple design reviewsbut now needs your expertise to get it right for manufacturing at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design & engineering teams to resolve design-for-manufacture issues and optimise product readiness.
- Lead and support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities to ensure smooth transition into high-volume production.
- Analyse and improve production processes with a strong focus on automation and lean principles.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement robust corrective actions.
- Identify and deliver process improvements ensuring repeatability and scalability of production.
- Work cross-functionally with operations quality and design to ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.
Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Proven experience in NPI and manufacturing engineering within the aerospace or other high-reliability industries.
- Strong understanding of production line automation tooling and fixtures.
- Comfortable working hands-on to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Ability to critically assess product designs and contribute to design for manufacture (DFM) improvements.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient with CAD tools and capable of reading technical drawings.
