Hilton Columbus Downtown is searching for a Sous Chef for our award-winning restaurant FYR Short North.
This AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel is a beacon of excellence in the heart of Columbus.
With 1000 elegantly appointed guest rooms over 75000 square feet of versatile event space and six distinct food and beverage outlets this is a rare opportunity to lead culinary innovation at one of Hiltons flagship urban properties.
In this role you will work with the Senior Sous Chef and Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of FYR our signature restaurant renowned for its live-fire cooking and inventive Midwestern cuisine. Showcasing an open kitchen concept and emphasizing the freshest seasonal locally sourced ingredients FYR delivers an engaging and authentic dining experience.
The ideal candidate is a passionate and accomplished culinarian with leadership experience and a proven ability to inspire and elevate a high-performing team.

What will I be doing
As Sous Chef you would be responsible for assisting with the direction and oversight of all culinary operations in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically a Sous Chef would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of culinary operations to include but not limited to preparation and production of hotel meals food quality and presentation compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation team member productivity and performance implementation of policies and procedures cost controls and overall profitability
- Implement menu selections for special events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal state local and company health safety sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
- Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include but not limited to providing supervision conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations training scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward
