The AUKUS Submarine and Industrial Base Group within SPAs Sea Land and Air Division provides timely objective analytic assessments that integrate technical operational programmatic policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities and includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navys top acquisition priority) the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine) to bring improved capabilities to the undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPAs decades of support to the SSBN force and/or assist in developing the design requirements for the SSN of the future. These are high-profile major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.

Responsibilities

The Senior Advisor for Submarine Programs will advise multiple teams within SPA in development of innovative concepts of operations and capability plans to support top-level government decision makers and support strategic planning for submarine and combat systems program acquisition industrial base analysis and capability development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 20 years in Undersea Warfare assignments with experience leading Navy acquisition activities
  • Experience with industry and pentagon engagement
  • Experience leading teams in developing rigorous analytic solutions to top-level government and military issues and addressing client questions and issues
  • Exercising independent judgment and ability to work autonomously without supervision
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Team Submarine Major Program Manager or Deputy Program Manager
  • Ability to develop business relationships and generate/maintain funding to support small to mid-size teams andwork collaboratively with company executive level management
  • Experience in military operations analysis including requirements definition conduct of analyses of alternatives the JCIDS process and DoD Acquisition experience
