Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to administer medically prescribed programs and treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease injury or impairment. Utilizes training and clinical skills to complete treatment plans established by a licensed therapist and participates in the development of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation plan of care where applicable. Supervision by a licensed therapist is completed in accordance with state practice acts. Under the daily direction of the Rehabilitation Services Coordinator and in conjunction with the licensed therapists coordinates and maintains a schedule which involves approximately 75% direct patient care activities. Patient care activities may include inpatient outpatient and home care services completed at a variety of contract sites.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions follow instructions and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel residents family members visitors government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be able to work with ill disabled elderly emotionally upset and potentially hostile people within the facility. Must be able to speak write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors employees residents and families.
Education and Experience
Associates Degree
Licensing/Certifications
License as a physical therapy assistant in state where practice is required.
