Working Hours:36.25 hours per week to be organised with the sucessful worker
Pay Rate: 12.50 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: Marmont Centre University Park Campus
Dress Code: Lab Dress

The duties will include:

  • This project involves a laboratoryassessment of a CO2 and othergreenhouse gases (CH4 N2O etc.)removal device using a photocatalytic effect. The proposed system is supposedto improve and enhance the indoor air quality (IAQ).
  • The successful candidate is required to set up the experimental system includingthe measuring sensors and carry out testsof the device using an environmental controlchamber in the Department of Architectureand Built Environment.
  • Training and support will be provided by a qualified research team and technical staff to complete the duties.

Skills and experience required for the role:

  • Ability to set upa small laboratory-scale carbon capture module and a flexible fibre mat for degassing using a photocatalytic system.


What you can expect to gain during this role:

  • The successful applicant will gain knowledge of air purification systems(carbon capture)and develop skills in setting up and taking measurements of various parametersincluding temperature air flow rateand air qualityusing measuring sensors and data logging devices.
  • The candidate will also advance knowledge on assessing the performanceof a laboratorydevice (air purification system in this case) and plot a comparative graph of the results.
