Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Knowledge Manager Systems to join our Knowledge and Research team to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

In this role you will evolve and optimise our knowledge solutions to deliver a cohesive user experience. As a natural leader you will inspire others and drive the firm forward with innovative ways of working. Your superb analytical skills will enable you to consult across various levels and roles influencing and encouraging effective change. You will collaborate with our heads of practice practice-based knowledge specialists partners lawyers and business services staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Senior Knowledge Manager - Content to optimise processes and technology for managing knowledge assets

  • Leading the development and implementation of knowledge systems strategy and functionality to meet practice group requirements

  • Improving user experience and facilitate the adoption of knowledge-related technologies

  • Enhancing system integration to reduce information silos and implementing quality control processes with the global knowledge team

  • Working with counterparts and senior stakeholders to create a globally connected knowledge function and ensure effective knowledge-related technology systems

  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for client-facing knowledge products and services

  • Complying with WHS obligations as outlined on the firm intranet.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Highly experienced (8 years) in knowledge systems management and change management in legal or professional services

  • Deep awareness of relevant current and emerging technologies relevant to knowledge and collaboration and a working understanding of the relevant disciplines and processes associated with them

  • An understanding and ability to analyse the key elements of common legal workflows especially those related to knowledge submission and the delivery of knowledge assets at the point of need

  • Critical and commercial skills able to position technology systems and frameworks realistically within a complex a changing operating environment

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to work under own initiative and autonomously whilst recognising when best to involve others

  • Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with different areas and teams both lawyers and business services

  • Commitment to and experience of legal knowledge sharing systems and processes

  • Experience in managing multiple projects

  • Demonstrable experience in designing and building SharePoint Online based knowledge solutions or with similar technologies.
