This posting may be used to fill future vacancies at this location.

Location:This position is eligible for Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) after the initial training period. The FWA includes a hybrid workplace which is partly remote (work from home) and partly in office at a satellite location that may be located in Canon City Denver Pueblo and other locations throughout the state or at our Headquarters location in Colorado Springs.

Description of Job


Primary Duties in Time and Release include but are not limited to:
  • Assure accuracy of documentation by auditing legal sentencing documents (Court Mittimuses Orders Parole Board Mittimuses) for accuracy and compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes for each person sentenced to the DOC;
  • Determine initial time credits for each case;
  • Compile and systematize all legal documentation statutory requirements and administrative regulations to quantify the length of legal incarceration for each person sentenced to the DOC;
  • Audit and analyze all time awards and losses entered into eOMIS by other DOC staff;
  • Confirm eligibility of each person to receive the entered awards or losses through analysis of time account limits and posting summaries and correlation with convictions under the Code of Penal Discipline;
  • Implement the release process for persons being paroled statutorily discharged or released by court order from the DOC by accessing the Colorado Crime Investigation Center/National Crime Investigation Center (CCIC/NCIC) network;
  • Execute all notifications necessitated by CCIC/NCIC entries. Initiate proper releasing documentation;
  • Exchange collect and detect information through communication with law enforcement agencies parole board members and families of incarcerated persons with regard to parole and/or discharge eligibility established parole hearing month and applications of statutory/case law;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of *technical or **high-level clerical experience. (This experience must be clearly described in your own words within the work experience section of your application to meet this requirement.)

*Technical work is skilled work in the practical application of specialized techniques procedures practices or methods in order to accomplish tasks. The specialized work is a direct extension of a professional field which requires an understanding of that field in order to carry out the practical nature of the work.

**High-Level clerical experience includes the following: document creation word processing; creating and revising office procedures; compiling and formatting the content for program materials such as annual reports and newsletters; screening documents and supporting information to determine eligibility authenticity or identity; accounting for the units allotted funds by authorizing operating expenditures. NOTE: Retail food service or call center customer service is not in an office support environment and will not be given credit toward the minimum requirements.


OR:
A combination of College university or non-correspondence school course and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years. A copy of your unofficial college transcript with your name institution name degree and date conferred must be attached to your application to verify your education.

Note:In order to obtain a NCIC/CCIC operator license it is required that you have no felony convictions. The selected candidate will be required to maintain certification every 24 months.

Preferred Qualifications:(Candidates may receive higher ratings for possessing the preferred qualifications criteria.)
  • Technical experience or high-level clerical experience working with the State of Colorado ;
  • Advanced knowledge and proven work experience in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint and Access) and Google Applications (Drive Sheets Docs and Forms);
  • Progressive experience working in a fast-paced customers-oriented environment with a focus on delivering a high level of customer service;
  • Experience completing multiple projects simultaneously with on-going frequent deadlines;
  • Proven quality assurance experience monitoring work checking for errors and verifying accuracy.
