Job Description
For over 100 years Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication construction and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Class A CDL Driver will drive a tractor-trailer combination with step-deck trailers moving job trailers between jobsites hauling equipment to jobsites and occasionally hauling some materials to work-sites in a 25-state area. Overnight travel is required with some weekend travel. Very frequent home time averaging 3 nights out at a time.
Essential Functions:
- Follow appropriate safety & load securement procedures when transporting material.
- Perform vehicle inspections before driving them to ensure mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status while following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations or damage to the vehicles to supervisor.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs of truck trailers and other equipment.
- Load and unload step-deck trailers with forklifts and overhead lifts.
- Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips.
- Pick-up and delivery of parts in town.
- Coordinate project material and equipment on campus.

Qualifications:

- One or more-year(s) experience as a class A CDL driver
- Prior construction material delivery experience preferred.
- Valid Class A nonrestricted CDL required with optional Tanker Endorsement.
- Able to work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold.
Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods sitting in a tractor cab.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to travel frequently.
