Program Coordinator
FGP/RSVP Portage and Stark Counties
Full-Time 40 Hours/Week
$40130/Year
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Recruits trains and manage senior volunteers for the Foster Grandparent (FGP) and Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Portage and Stark Counties. The coordinator oversees and is responsible for all FGP/RSVP program operations and goals in Portage & Stark Counties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee FGP and RSVP operations and goals in assigned counties.
2. Recruits enrolls and trains volunteers; ensures all proper documentation is obtained; conducts regular volunteer recruitment and gathering events
3. Provides appropriate volunteer recognition throughout the year (i.e. birthdays important life events) and either manages or co-manages the planning implementation and successful execution of annual Americorps Senior recognition event in local counties.
4. Establishes and promotes volunteer stations; ensures stations comply with grant performance measurements as needed; ensures stations submit reports when scheduled; addresses any concerns expressed by the station relative to the FGP/RSVP programs.
5. Collect update and maintain volunteer station and program files including timely submissions to central office.
6. Collect submit and process data in compliance with grant requirements.
7. Recruit train and direct activities of local Advisory Council members in collaboration with other AmeriCorps Seniors staff.
8. Encourage members to participate in National Days of Service (ex: MLK Patriot Day) and promote national service and National Days of Service in the local community.
9. Develop and maintain community agency and funder relationships.
10. Identifies and communicates new fiscal development sources/funders to insure adequate funds for program implementation; secures information and paperwork for funding sources as needed; submits data and receives reports as requested; assists Director Assistant Director and Support Coordinator with information for reports as needed.
11. Promote the programs mission and needs to include community outreach speaking engagements and marketing through a variety of mediums (i.e. social media newspaper).
12. Track and submit forms for petty cash mileage reimbursement and check requests.
13. Host regular in-service meetings training and educational opportunities for volunteers.
14. Comply with agency policies and procedures; federal and state requirements; and education certification and registry requirements.
15. Assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
16. Provide support for other counties and staff as needed.
17. Travel throughout service counties and state as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to interact with others specifically senior population.
2. Ability to perform basic arithmetic including percentages and averages with a calculator.
3. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
4. Ability to read and understand procedures manuals correspondence and general text.
5. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data.
6. Valid Ohio Drivers License reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
7. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation and FBI).
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL / LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree preferred. Two years experience in office and/or volunteer management.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Customer service experience either through employment or volunteer services. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel within and outside of assigned county.
