Job Description

The Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity requires a strong commitment to teaching scholarly research curriculum development and student mentorship. The successful candidate will support the universitys mission by preparing students for careers in cybersecurity and related fields while contributing to the growth and development of academic programs.


Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in cybersecurity including but not limited to network security ethical hacking digital forensics cyber law and policy and information assurance.
  • Develop and update curriculum aligned with industry trends and national cybersecurity standards (e.g. NICE Framework NIST).
  • Conduct and publish original research in cybersecurity or closely related areas.
  • Pursue external funding opportunities and participate in interdisciplinary grant projects.
  • Advise and mentor students in academic research and career planning.
  • Participate in department college and university committees and governance.
  • Foster relationships with industry and government partners to enhance academic programming and student opportunities (e.g. internships capstone projects).
  • Support institutional efforts in diversity equity inclusion and student success.


Education

  • Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Computer Science Information Systems or a closely related field (ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion by appointment date).
  • Evidence of effective college-level teaching.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
