Job Summary
Assist the manager in coordinating non-patient care functions in the department. Executes performance evaluations on direct reports. Adheres to the established Corporate Compliance and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates schedules and assigns staff to surgical and obstetrical procedures. Assumes managers role and duties upon managers absence. Maintains clinical competency by engaging in Anesthesia practice.Accountabilities
Assist the manager in managing and coordinating non-patient care functions within the department including but not limited to inservice education time allocation for support processes work requests and intra- and inter- departmental communication. - 5%
Executes performance management functions on direct reports including but not limited to performance evaluations disciplinary actions rounding and training. - 10%
Accountable for compliance and facilitation of policies Corporate Compliance regulatory agencies safety and appropriate documentation. - 5%
Contributes to the ongoing operations of the hospital system through active participation at departmental and hospital meetings and committees involving management planning problem solving and change. - 5%
Administers anesthesia as needed to assist with staffing and maintain skills and competencies. - 50%
Coordinates surgery and obstetrical schedule and assigns staff to surgical and obstetrical procedures based on competency of available staff members. - 10%
Assumes managers role & duties upon managers absence. - 5%
Report incidents or concerns related to department functions patient care or personnel to manager or director. - 5%
Engages and mediates conflict resolutions within Anesthesia Services Nursing Services or any other hospital personnel. - 5%
Performs Point of Care testing as required by regulatory requirements and organization policy and procedures.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget
authority hire/termination/disciplinary authority performance appraisal responsibility. Job
will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports
Minimum Requirements
Masters Degree - Anesthesia
2 years - Nurse Anesthetist
In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements
In lieu of the Masters Degree in Anesthesia will accept CRNAs which graduated before December 31 2003 from an advanced organized formal education program for nurse anesthetists accredited by the national accreditation organization of the CRNA specialty.
