ROLE Mechanical Engineer
LOCATION -Farnborough
TERM - Permanent
SALARYper annum dependent on experience
My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for a number of industries. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Farnborough on a permanent basis. The role will involve a mix of CAD and hands-on engineering in the workshop.
The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Eager to work in a hands-on and varied Engineering role
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials sheet metal plastics injection moulding machining etc
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks etc.
- Interested in building high precision electromechanical products
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
- A background in Manufacture would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Team player
- Eager to train and develop their career in Engineering/Manufacture
The Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
- Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
- Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
- Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical assembly of a variety of products and equipment
- Opportunities to train in different areas of Engineering
- Working to procedures and instructions
- Testing and fault-finding
- Working on the factory floor
- Communicating with different departments to resolve technical issues
