Adjunct Faculty Position: Introduction to Philosophy
The Philosophy Department at Covenant College an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and an academically rigorous college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition invites applications for an adjunct professor to teach Introduction to Philosophy (the first course in Covenants major program in Philosophy) in Fall 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach an undergraduate course introducing Philosophy as a discipline in the context of a Christian perspective
Plan lessons and assignments grade assignments respond to student inquiries submit grades
Support retention efforts through early identification of students who are struggling offering students needed academic support and providing positive encouragement
Qualifications:
Commitment to the mission of Covenant College
Completion of at least 18 hours of graduate Philosophy or Philosophical Theology courses from an accredited institution is required. An M.A. in Philosophy is preferred but not required.
Expertise in the subject area
Teaching experience preferred
