The Safety Assistant Intern provides administrative support to the Safety and Risk Department assisting with data gathering analysis reporting and maintaining documentation and filing systems.

Create and maintain digital filing systems for injuries accidents training records and vehicle compliance.
Review documentation to ensure required training records and reports are complete accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Assist the Safety and Risk Director with New Hire Orientation.
Order and maintain safety supplies including PPE and uniforms.
Maintain all DOT records and reports as required by federal state and local regulations.
Maintain Driver Qualification files and other required records for all DOT employees.
Conduct regular audits of driver MVRs.
Update training materials and videos to reflect current company branding.
Collaborate with other departments and provide clerical support as needed.

OSHA 10 or 30 preferred (can be provided upon hire).
Able to read and interpret safety rules operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Able to speak effectively before groups.
Able to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers fractions and decimals.
Able to compute rates ratios and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
