Job Description
A school in Gateshead are seeking a knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join their team to support a pupil with SEND needs. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in supporting a child to access the classroom and school facilities in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support a pupil who requires additional assistance with mobility and Send needs.
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and materials.
- Support the social and emotional development of pupils promoting positive behaviour and well-being.
- Help maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support pupil progress and achievement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as SEN Support or in a similar role within a primary school setting is desirable.
- The role will require personal care experience - cleaning and changing the child.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils colleagues and parents.
- A passion for working with young children and supporting their educational development.
- Patience resilience and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- A commitment to promoting equality diversity and inclusion in the classroom.
