Job Description

VET Trainer (Community Services)

The David Scott School are seeking a passionate VET Trainer to join our dedicated team to deliver Community Services.

Location:Frankston

Job Type:Maximum Term Part-Timeworking 7.6 hours per week (Wednesday)

Salary:$72739 to $88450 per annum based on skills and experience plus 11.5% superannuation.(pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role

The roles purpose is to support and deliver high quality Vocational Education and Training (VETIS) programs to include:

  • Undertake training responsibilities which meet the requirements of nationally endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses.
  • Assess and address the varied needs of each student including the provision of training which caters for individual differences in prior learning academic abilities and learning styles and provide additional assistance to students with low levels of literacy and numeracy.
  • Provide detailed unit/module outlines assessment guidelines and tools for students.
  • Development and administration of suitable assessment tasks appropriate to qualification/course requirements.
  • Ensure content and delivery of Training Packages and accredited courses meet the standards of the VET Quality Framework.

The School delivers an integrated education program to meet the literacy numeracy work related andpersonal development needs of young people (aged 15-20) in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region who are unable to participate in mainstream schooling.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Applied learning experience will be highly regarded (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan implement and review training programs and assessment tools for nationally accredited qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant vocational industry including demonstrated experience in training and assessment in a competency-based training environment
  • An understanding of nationally endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses
