Job Description

Mazama High School isseeking a dedicated teacherto teach the Education Pathway program halftime and to serve as CTE Coordinator halftime. To teach the education pathway the ideal applicant has demonstrated a dedication to teaching elementary students at high levels of proficiency. As a CTE Coordinator the teacherwill serve the needs of the community the school and the CTE teachers to assist with grant writing and organization of programs of study. We desire a teacher that is passionate about teaching adolescents being a strong team member and continually reflecting and building upon his/her skills.

Candidates are required to be certified in Elementary Multiple Subjectsrequired to have elementary teaching experience and will be able to be certified as a CTE teacher in this area. To teach dual credit courses for this pathway candidates who do not have sufficient credits in Psychology will need to be willing to obtain those credits.

CTE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet regularly with Administration and CTE teachersto provide updates on current projects problem-solve and work towards short and long-term program goals
  • Assist CTE teachers with developing classroom management and instructional strategies that are relevant and successful
  • Develop update and maintain detailed CTE Program Pathways Maps for each CTE program
  • Coordinate Industry Advisory Boards for each CTE program of study

  • Secure funding for CTE programs forprogramimprovements such as campus improvements program supplies professional developmentetc.
  • Coordinate dual credit expansion with local and regional colleges

  • Develop paid and unpaid internships and work experiences with local businessesfor Mazama students

  • Regularly participate in CTE-relevant meetings to communicate to staff anyopportunities that could benefit our CTE programs financially and academically
  • Collaborate with department and district colleagues.

EDUCATION PATHWAY TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficiently plan prepare and teach lessons for courses in the Education Pathway for 9-12 students. Assess student progress and remediate students struggles.
  • Partner with Klamath Community College for dual credit and internship opportunities.
  • Partner with local elementary schools for Cadet Teaching courses.
  • Build productive and appropriate relationships with students to inspire their success and determination.
  • Reflect on instruction and program quality to improve the Education Pathway courses and success.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Depth and breadth of content knowledge pertaining to elementary education
  • Highly organized and strong communicator

PERSONAL TRAITS:

  • High ethical and professional standards; firm in personal values and direction.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working with adolescents.
  • Collaborative spirit ability to work well with a team of strong colleagues.

Primary Function:

To plan organize and implement an appropriate instructional program as designated by the Klamath County School District in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

COMPENSATION:

  • 190 day contract
  • Family medical dental and vision insurance
  • 6% PERS paid by District
  • $49907-91207/Annual 2024/2025 school year (2025/2026 salary is dependent upon negotiations)
