Job Description
This position is part time and not benefit eligible
POSITION: Library Assistant K-7
JOB GOAL: To provide students with access to library resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of college.
- Basic understanding of child development.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the principal may find appropriate or acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal and K-7 Librarian
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Supervise and/or assist students and teachers in library usage.
- Implement curricula in library skills as provided by the K-7 Librarian.
- Provide books for teachers classroom needs.
- Maintain inventory of books and all other media.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal or K-7 Librarian.
JOB ENVIRONMENT: K-7 Schools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Include frequent standing walking stooping climbing
bending kneeling crawling reaching pushing pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds; and possible exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases depending on specific assignment.
TERMS OFEMPLOYMENT: Per Contract
