ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is growing and well established EPC within the telecommunications industry across Canada. They boast an incredible industry reputation and they are expanding their operations and projects.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
In this role you will be responsible for successfully delivering wireline design and building projects. You will oversee Team Leads Site Supervisors and Foreman to ensure that the work is completed safely on time within budget and to a high-quality standard.

The Wireline Construction Manager also oversees budgets schedules and overall project delivery. You will provide leadership to strategically manage risk monitor project health and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time.

• Understanding construction methods to place telecommunications services locating and various fiber optic cable placement services.
• The ability to conduct and assist in internal audits to determine compliance with procedures controls and applicable laws or regulations.
• Payroll hours review and cost management.
• Business case analysis / Job verification.
• Performance Management tracking.
• Job support includingcustomer interaction and public interaction.
• Ability to read and understand construction prints.
• Understands utility locates and ensures public and network safety.
• Extensiveknowledgeofequipmentoperationincludingdirectional drills drilling locating systems backhoes excavators trenchers fiber plows pull cats and fibre blowing / pulling operations.
• Is deeply familiarwith telecommunications OSP and ISP facilities.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Monitor builds progress oversee finance and ensure project quality.
• Escalate issues to the Manager Operations promptly.
• Making strategic decisions and providing leadership and direction to the project teams.
• Meeting with clients stakeholders and project managers to report on project progress regularly and
• building strong working relationships while ensuring client satisfaction.
• Developcost-effective plans to enable practical project completion including project close-out.
• Managing risksto avoiddelays or reputational damage.
• Ensuring permits and all construction work packages are secured before project execution.
• Coach and mentor project teams through project performance performance reviews one-on-one meetings and constructive feedback.
• Understand and implement The companys Health and Safety guidelines including participating in audits developing crisis management plans etc.
• Be a safety leader and champion by rolling out new safety processes and tools and setting a great example of a positive safety culture.
• Ensure and promote a safe working environment for all employees.

• Technical Diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant telecommunications wireline construction experience.
• Must have a solid understanding of the nuances of telecom OSP/ISP builds and an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to build or upgrade a wireline network.
• Ability to participate in the planning and overall management of a project schedule.
• Understand construction documents and ensure they are complete; protect the owners and WesTowers interests; clearly define expectations; and provide incentives to perform.
• Knowledge of construction project costs and budgets.
• Ability to build a strong team-oriented and HSE-conscious culture at work.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
