Job Description
Lead a top team in Fair Lawn NJ USA for our global Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD).
You will spearhead LCDs packaging engineering function across our global division. You will be accountable for upholding our packaging philosophy strictly driven by Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SDQC). This includes specifying packaging materials ensuring safe packaging testing to meet regulatory and quality standards and conducting cost and design reviews with suppliers.
Your role will involve providing matrix leadership and site support to our safety procurement operational and process technical teams. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams and analyze packaging performance indicators to identify trends and improve the customer experience.
A day in the Life:
- Champion the divisional packaging engineering function; develop site teams capabilities and manage the packaging engineering teams day-to-day workload.
- Ensure accurate packaging specifications bills-of-materials and instructions to guarantee appropriate packaging and procurement of components.
- Assist operational teams in resolving packaging-related issues and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the development of package design and specifications for new products and extensions.
- Investigate customer complaints about package performance and implement corrective measures to ensure safety compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop a packaging roadmap to drive improvements in performance efficiency and customer experience.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Global Chemicals Account Managers on packaging inquiries as needed.
- Support strategic packaging investment projects and stay ahead of industry standards new technologies and regulatory changes.
- Report monthly and review with site teams and agencies.

Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science or equivalent experience (or an Engineering background with packaging experience)
Experience
- Proven packaging experience with UN Packaging/Hazmat requirements
- Knowledge of packaging test methods and equipment
- Familiarity with statistics and/or reliability engineering
- Matrix management experience
- Experience at a chemical site preferred
- 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred
