Job Duties

The Richmond & Henrico Health Districts is recruiting a Volunteer Services Supervisor. This position serves as a program expert/leader by contacting volunteers clients other agencies and organizations to recruit volunteers and inform clients of services. Supervises the training performance scheduling and utilization of volunteers. Serves as a liaison between operations administration and other staff and volunteers to ensure optimum use of resources. Prepares reports and performs some general administrative tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of and experience in program organization development and implementation program evaluation and coalition building. Computer skills necessary.
Strong presentation and communications skills (oral and written) are required.
Ability to successfully manage multiple activities simultaneously
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work and contribute within collaborative relationships including the public

Additional Considerations

Experience in public communication including media services
Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working within the community with emergency preparedness and response resources/methods
Experience managing volunteers in the public non-profit or community service sector
Ability to be a team player and work comfortably and effectively in cross-functional teams with staff volunteers and community partners
Ability to work in a dynamic emergency preparedness and response-focused environment including the necessity for after-hours and weekend work during incidents trainings and volunteer events.
