Position Summary
The Sexual Assault Advocate is responsible for providing confidential survivor-centered support and advocacy to individuals who have experienced sexual violence. This includes crisis intervention safety planning emotional support information and referrals and accompaniment during medical exams law enforcement interviews or court proceedings. The advocate also works collaboratively with community partners to improve survivor access to resources and justice. Full job description is available by emailing
Key Responsibilities
Provide trauma-informed culturally responsive support to sexual assault survivors of all genders and backgrounds.
Staff the 24-hour sexual assault response line and participate in an on-call rotation for in-person advocacy (e.g. hospital accompaniments).
Conduct intakes and ongoing support sessions in person by phone or virtually.
Assist with safety planning housing navigation protection orders and resource referrals.
Provide accompaniment and advocacy during Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) exams legal appointments and law enforcement interviews.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with organizational policies and state/federal guidelines.
Collaborate with staff and community partners to improve trauma-informed response systems.
Participate in regular supervision team meetings and ongoing training.
Qualifications
Required:
Associates degree in social work social services criminal justice or related field. One years experience working with survivors of trauma sexual violence or marginalized communities or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Commitment to social justice anti-oppression and survivor-centered practices.
Strong communication and emotional resilience skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and clear boundaries.
Available for on-call shifts including evenings and weekends.
Completion of 30 hours of sexual assault advocacy training (or willingness to complete upon hire).
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Fluency in a second language (especially Spanish ASL or other commonly spoken languages in Thurston County).
Familiarity with local resources and systems (legal healthcare housing).

Hourly: $24.34 $27.99 hourly (depending on experience)
