Job Description

The Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences is seeking to hire a part-time adjunct faculty of Psychology at Texas A&M UniversitySan Antonio. Expertise is open but preference is given to applicants with teaching experience and an understanding of psychological research methods. Appointment will begin in Fall 2025. Potential courses include Research Methods and Statistics Writing for Psychology The Psychology Major and other courses as needs arise. Continuation depends on course availability. This is an adjunct position requiring only teaching. Courses could be offered days evenings or weekends based on departmental need. Most courses needed are offered in person.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

  • Teaching experience.

  • Broad training in psychology.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

  • Experience serving as an instructor of record at the college/university level.

  • Experience teaching at a multicultural university.

  • Experience teaching in a non-traditional commuter university setting.

  • Ability to teach a range of courses in psychology.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty staff an students.

  • Ability to interact with students from multicultural backgrounds.

Finalists will be required to provide three current original letters of recommendation to the Search Committee Chair via email (sent directly from the recommender) or at the address listed below. The letters should be less than one year old and should bear the writers actual signature. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs TAMU-SA One University Way San Antonio TX 78224. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcript translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
