Job Description
DescriptionAndover is seeking a teacher for our award winning program for students with language based learning small group and/or individualized instruction and a modified curriculum to students with special needs. Provides direct instruction through Co-Teaching and/or small group and individual 1. Within regular education or in pullout settings provide teamed small group or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students individualized educational plans.2. Modifies and adapts the curricula materials and physical environment to meet the needs of individual diagnostic testing (formal/informal) as in IEP Team meetings for students in the program or newly referred.5. Acts as Case Manager for designated students providing close communication with parents and staff and preparing progress reports annual review narratives and individual education plans. Qualifications1. Massachusetts teachers certification.2. Certification as Teacher of School Age Children with Moderate Special Needs. 3. Expertise in designing and implementing special education programs.4. Experience in teaching students with language based learning disabilities and reading disorders preferred. Training in Orton-Gillingham based programs/ methodology strongly background in comprehensive strategies and content area Literacy instruction preferred.
